Summary

Amends the

Migration Act 1958
to: clarify certain visa related matters (immigration status of non-citizen children born in Australia, security for compliance, bridging visas, special purpose visas and non-citizen student visas); create a Deputy Principal Member position for the Migration Review Tribunal; remove ambiguities surrounding certain offence provisions; and correct a technical error. Also contains application provisions.
